A Place to Learn and Belong

When a family is forced to leave their country due to conflict or persecution, the children lose more than a safe place to live.  They lose stability, daily routine, friends and often their opportunity for education.  These losses often result in feelings of loneliness and hopelessness.

Through the GED Study Group project, we are helping displaced youth complete a high school equivalency credential.  Not only does this give them access to further education, but it restores their sense of purpose, belonging and connection, and gives them hope for their future.

"I am flying out tomorrow to Australia. My mom and my little brother went into detention for 20 days. I am writing this to say thank you to you and Life Raft. Thank you for all the math lessons. I find it easier to understand when learning with you. I will never forget the fun times we had in class. I will miss everybody here."

"Thanks a lot for all your help with GED and the (exam) vouchers, I would never have been able to do this without your and Life Raft's help!"

Your gift can help refugee youth take their next step in education, supported by people who care about them and their future.

  • $100 covers the exam fee for one GED subject.

  • $400 covers all four GED subject exams for one student.

Give toward one exam or all four. A gift of any amount helps make these opportunities possible.
